2023 Envirothon
This year’s Envirothon competition was held at Camp Hickory on April 26. There were two teams competing, one from Northern High School and one from Southern High School.
Envirothon is a competition created by Soil Conservation Districts to help students learn about careers in Conservation. There are Envirothons held in most counties and in every state. Winners on the County Level advance to State. And State winners advance to Nationals.
Numerous agencies partner with the District to make Envirothon happen including the Forestry Service, The National Heritage Foundation, and the Extension Service.
Envirothon is open to students 9-12 grade throughout the county. There are Envirothon teams in public high schools, but nationally recognized organizations and youth groups are also qualified to sponsor a team. Please contact the District at jeannie.frazee@maryland.gov for more information.
